Just hours after Moscow began one of the biggest aircraft strikes of the more than three-year conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Sunday swaps of hundreds of prisoners between the two nations.
Third and last in nature, the prisoner swap was a rare instance of cooperation in a significant transaction.
The Defense Ministry of Russia claimed that both sides traded around three hundred men. This matched the release of 307 fighters and citizens apiece on Saturday and 390 on Friday, the biggest total swap of the conflict thus far.
