Through the official online Google Store in India, Google on Thursday started direct sales of its Pixel devices, letting customers buy smartphones, watches, buddies and accessories straight for the first time.
This will accentuate Google’s current online and physical retail presence, according a company statement.
Managing Director of Devices and Services at Google India Mitul Shah claimed that the “dynamic and changing” Indian smartphone market is mostly responsible for starting direct online shopping via the India Google Store.
“Direct online shopping via the Google Store in India complements our already strong retail presence – both online and in physical shops, together with our partners – all geared at provide choice and meet our people where they are. We will keep making investments in all spheres, with an eye on increasing retail availability, improving customer service, and guaranteeing appealing pricing policies.” he stated.
Shah did not, however, offer a chronology on when Google would set up its own physical storefronts across India.
“For Pixel, India stays a strategic target and important market. We are firing all cylinders, with a plan completely focused on arming Indians with AI-powered products,” he said.
