To run OpenAI’s new US data center, Oracle would spend around $40 billion on Nvidia’s higher-performance CPUs, the Financial Times reported on Friday.
Citing three people familiar with the arrangement, the newspaper stated the cloud service provider will buy about 400,000 of Nvidia’s most powerful GB200 chips and lease the computing capacity to OpenAI.
OpenAI, Nvidia, and Oracle did not reply right away to Reuters’s requests for comments.
