City officials of Kyiv report that at least 14 persons have suffered from a significant Russian missile and drone attack.
Russia started 250 drones and 14 ballistic missiles toward Kyiv, Ukraine’s air force reported, sparking flames in nearby homes. Since the conflict started, it was among the biggest combined aerial assaults on the city. The air force reported 245 drones and six missiles dropped.
“With each such attack, the world gets more certain that the cause of prolonging the war lies in Moscow,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on X.
The barrage followed Russia’s and Ukraine’s agreed upon prisoner transfer following negotiations between their officials in Turkey.
Zelensky described a “difficult night” whereby homes, businesses, and vehicles had been destroyed by strikes or falling debris across Kyiv. There had also been fires and explosions.
Living just outside of central Kyiv, 64-year-old local Olha Chyrukha told Reuters news agency: “I wish they’d agree to a ceasefire.” To blast people like this, underprivileged youngsters. Three-year-old granddaughter of mine was screaming terrified.
Only “additional sanctions targeting key sectors of the Russian economy” stated Zelensky could compel Moscow to accept a ceasefire.
Russia said last week that Ukraine had shot hundreds of explosive drones into Russia, including strikes over Moscow. 485 drones had been reported shot down by Russia’s Ministry of Defence.
